Welcome to HCM. I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Weight gain on treatment for hyperthyroidism is a good response. So no need to worry. In hyperthyroidism the excess thyroid hormone causes protein break down in muscle and bone leading to weight loss. This weight is regained while on treatment. Please consult your doctor and have your thyroid function tests done and make sure you are not over treated.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
