How To Cure AMD (Age Related Muscular Degeneration)?

I'm Merlyn. I am type 2 diabetic and using insulin for the past 3 yrs. I've cataracts in both eyes. The right eye I had sugery and after about 8 months I started seeing something blocking my vision at the extreme right of the eye. The doc. said it was AMD and has treated me once with laser but no change. Said the retina is getting detached (?) I had to undergo cataract surgery of the left eye but that hs now been postponed.

Please Doc. can you give me some explanations whats happening? Thanks

Regards
Merlyn
PS: I'm 65 yrs, female, wt. 117 kg. 5'6" tall

Hi
AMD means age related macular degeneration ( not muscular). It is the ageing change in the central retina which causes lowering of vision.
Till a decade back, this was being considered irreversible .
Now at some retina centres avastin or similar intra vitrial injections are being practiced with unguaranteed fruitful result in some cases.
In some cases degenerative changes are slowed down to some extent.
In some cases there are no good results.
The treatment is expensive.
