How To Cure A Marble Sized Lump On Left Neck, sinus Infection And Ear Pain?

I have a marble sized lump in the left side of my neck. A couple of inches below my ear. Have had some sinus infection and minor ear aches as well. Just wondered if I should be concerned. Am pretty healthy and have not really had any sinus issues until this year.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi. This lump below your ears and on the left side of your neck is called a lymph node. The presence of these suggests an infection of your nose, sinuses or from within the ear.

Lymph nodes being swollen and tender indicates that your body's immune system is activated. These nodes can also be enlarged in subclinical infections or autoimmune conditions where you would otherwise feel fine inspite of these being enlarged and tender.

In my opinion I would advise a specific examination with an ENT specialist to evaluate your nose, sinuses and ear for any possible sources of infections and manage the same with a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medications. The occasional ear pain can be explained by the blockage of the Eustachian tube that can occur due to sinus infections. A blood work up including a complete blood count may also be necessary to see if your cell counts are fine.

Even though your clinical picture does not appear worrisome, I would recommend evaluating the cause of your enlarged lymph node.

Do let me know if you have any more questions.
