How To Cure A Prolonged Wound On Leg?

There is a wound on my right leg which is taking very long time to heal, I have been suggested by my family doc to check with vascular specialist. After consultation i came to know that i have Deep vein thrombosis on my right leg. Doc has asked me to wear Knee-high stockings and then i have to go for surgery. May i know what are the possible remedies for the same.
