How To Cure A Red Swab Appearing Where Re-piercing Has Been Done On Ears?

A couple of days ago I re-pierced my ear piercing as it had closed over a little. Since then, I ve noticed my ear is covered in a sore, red, scab like material. It s not just on my newly re-pierced hole either, it s all over my ear near enough. This happened a few years ago when it was first pierced which I find quite strange as I ve never experienced anything like this with any piercings before. I ve been cleaning it with salt water, is there anything else I can do to help the scabs (if that s what it is) or do you have any idea on whats happening? Thanks.

Hello
Thank You for contacting HCM.

That particular area could have been infected. I would suggest you following things:
> Apply polyfax plus ointment over the area twice a day for three days
> keep it clean
> Wash hands before & after touching the area.
> Take acetaminophen for pain (if occurs)

Report to hospital if:
> Condition remain same after 2-3 days
> Any unusual symptom appears
> Condition deteriorates.
