How To Cure Bacterial Infection In Urine During Pregnancy?

greetings. I am james from Philippines..my 12 weeks pregnant wife's urine was diagnosed to have high bacteria (156/ul) urine epithelial cells (16.40/ul), Urine WBC (20 /ul), positive +3 of ketones, ph 7, and a trace of leucocytes.. what are its effects on her and the baby? what medicine should she take to treat it? thank you.

Yes, you do have urinary infection.
I would advice you to go more scientifically rather than taking random antibiotics.
Please get your urine tested for Culture and Sensitivity. This test reveals two things:
1. Which organisms are responsible for the infection?
2. These organisms are sensitive to which antibiotics?
Accordingly the doctor can take a more scientific decision to start the antibiotics. They have to be taken in precise dosages and for stipulated period. Therefore please take the report to your Obstetrician for further treatment.
To get relief from the other symptoms of urinary infection, like pain and burning:
1. Drink plenty of water
2. Urinary analgesics are available. Get them on your doctors advice. These medicines give red colour to the urine. Do not get worried by the red colour. It is the medicine passing through the urine.
