How To Cure Cracked Skin That Bleeds At End Of The Thumb Nail?

For the last 6 months I have had dry, hard, cracked skin on the end of my thumb to the start of my thumb nail. I have tried lotions and creams but the only way to keep it from cracking open is to put cream on it and a band aid. It never goes away and sometimes cracks open enough to bleed. What is it? How to treat it?

Hi
thanks for posting here.
You seam to have a finger tip eczema.
Avoid soaps and detergents. Also avoid touching water frequently. Avoid touching onion, garlic, lemon etc with the fingers.
Apply moisturising cream 4 to 5 times daily.
If it is persistent you can use a steroid cream like clobetasol for a week.
Avoid putting band aid.
still if it persists meet a dermatologist.
take care.
hope this is useful to you.
