How To Cure Excessive Cartilage In Ankle?

I am a twenty three year old gentleman. I have been toldsince I was a kid that I had too much cartiliage in my ankles and that it rubbed and caused friction. I was very thin and was in a lot of pain back then. Now the pain has cotton worst and I have gained lofts of weight but now its to a point I can't stand for a few mind without pain what is my problem
