How To Cure Hand Pain After Elbow Fracture?

bless you...i have had a fracture of the elbow, the conclusion on the report read as follows :

Comminuted displaced intra articular fracture involving the laterial condyle of the humerus.



i have had a back slab for two weeks, the doctor has said i need a surgery to insert a pin to hold the bones together so that i can use the hand effectively. right now, its soo painful to try to stretch it. he said if i dont do the surgery, my hand will not stretch and i will be in pain most of the time.



please advise if i really need a surgery and that it wont heal on its own.
