Cannot say in your particular case, but the most common situation is that very little permanent damage occurs with marijuana and a LOT of inflammation/asthma/reversible airway disease occurs in sensitive people. There are, occaisional people who's lungs develop permanent scarring and dysfunction from marijuana and this eventually shows up on x-rays. And when it shows up it cannot be fixed but it doesn't have to get much worse if marijuana smoking stops.
