How To Cure Pain And Bump On Hip Due To A Injury?

my daughter was in a car accident a week and a half ago and hit her left upper hip?thigh against center console. this left about an 18 in long by 5 in wide bruis on her. now the bruise is fading and she has no pain but has formed a lage fatty bump on her hip. she has a dr appt for next thurs just to be sure all is well, but is wondering if she should go to urgent care instead or if this is normal?
