My 6 year old daughter has a small, pus filled blister on her lower lip and one on the skin directly below the lip. She has frequent association with a child who has severe cold sores. We live in a cold, dry climate and she has had a bad cold the last week. What do you think and how should I proceed?
Hello Thank you for posting on HCM. It seems your daughter has got herpes labialis, a kind of viral infection. I would suggest you consult a dermatologist for proper management. Usually i prescribe acyclovir suspension according to weight for 5 days and local application acyclovir cream mixed with mupirocin cream for a week. Advise plenty of fuid intake. Hope this will take care of her problem Thank you Dr Hardik Pitroda
