How To Cure Severe Shoulder Pain Radiating Towards Arm?

I have severe left shoulder pain radiating into the left upper arm that makes moving the arm difficult. During daytime hours , the pain can lessen but the the pain comes back waking me up or preventing me from sleeping properly at night. this has been going for a few days now. Do you have any advice to alleviate this pain?
