I have been on 7 rounds of antibiotics, one round of steriods & two different types of creams to heal sores on my scalp. I ve also had swelling in the lymph node under my left arm. I ve also had confusion, and been very very forgetful since the sores appeared. January is month 3 of dealing with this, my body is weak, my neck is stiff, & I ve started running a fever last night. Can stress cause these issues?
As you have been taking 7 rounds of antibiotics to cure the sore in your scalp, then, it is time to get a culture of the sore swab or scrapping for: - bacteria (especially MRSA) - candida (severe infection).
Usually MRSA sores are very difficult to heal. I also suggest to get your blood sugar levels checked (fasting, HbA1C) to exclude diabetes as usually it is difficult for diabetics to get the skin wounds/sores healed until improvement of blood sugar levels.
Furthermore, I suggest to discuss with your doctor about starting anti-fungal therapy as you have taken very long courses of antibiotics.
Stress is another factor which contributes in weakening your immune system and make it difficult for diseases (including scalp wound) to get healed.
