hello my name is tony. i have had adhd as a child an now im 30 i still believe i have it. my mood swings are uncontrollable and can be very aggressive sometimes resulting in lashin out. i hurt those closest to me and it has wrecked a lot of relationships i have had. now i am in a relationship which i desperately want to save but i feel the way i am will destroy what i have. i also think i am depressed but i dnt know if this is the case. please help me as i am at my wits end and want to start my life properly. i have 6 days worth of concerta xl 27mg do these work straight away or is there any other medication i.e ritalin i could use to help. i flip at the smallest things i.e going ballistic over something small and cannot control it sometimes. when i feel like i wanna go mad but try to keep it in it feels like this uncontrollable urge for a release and this usually results in shouting aggressiveness and violence please help

I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
The symptoms that you have stated appear to be of bipolar mood disorder along with ADHD. ADHD very frequently gets extended to adulthood as well. Bipolar Mood disorder will need you to take mood stabilizers and antipsychotics for improvement. Mood stabilizers such as valproate, lithium, carbamazepine and antipsychotics like quetiapine, olanzapine or aripiprazole are good drugs for this purpose.
The treatment needs to be taken for a longer period and you can function as a normal person during the period.
For ADHD methylphenidate and adderal are good drugs. Even bupropion is an effective therapy.
