How To Cure Swelling On Lower Lip That's Extending Beyond Lip Line, No Improvement Despite Applying Accutane?

hello i am currently on accutane, over the course of this medication i have developed a swelling under my bottom lip , i do tend to lick my lips a little but i try my hardest not to i put aquaphor and chapstick on all day besides while im at school anyway this swelling under the bottom lip is red and has extended my lip line which makes it look like i have clown lips is there any way i can decrease the redness and swelling while on my course of acccutane i am very worried this will be permanent

Hi. Thanks for posting your concern at HCM.

I would keep a possibility of cheilitis which is very common in patients on accutane.

I normally advice my patients to use a moderately potent topical steroid like fluticasone twice daily for 5-7 days followed by the regular use of either aquaphor or lip guard.
