How To Cure Throat Pain Along With White Patches In Tonsils?

hi, the other day my throat hurt a little bit, then i looked at my tonsils and noticed they have white patches on them. I looked up some medicines i had in my house and found one of my prescriptions called cefdinir. i started taking it and it helped with the soreness, and a little bit of the patches, but now it seems as if it stopped helping and has spread on the back of my tounge. please help i am very scared

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain white spots on tonsils along with sore throat seems to be due to bacterial infection in throat leading to formation of pus pockets..
The bumps at the back of tongue can be inflamed circumvallate papillae and can be inflamed secondary to infection in throat..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and he can do a clinical examination and throat swab culture if needed..
In case of infection he can advise you to take antibiotics like Azithromycin, anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, doing warm saline gargles and steam inhalations..
Sucking throat lozenges can be relieving..
You can also chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up your immunity..
