How To Detect A Cracked Rib?

Ok, I am an 18 year old male who was rock climbing and jumped off to grab onto a small tree. Not the smartest but, i fell about 9-10 feet sideways onto a rock. knocked the breath out of me for about a minute. Giant bruising has occurred and sharp pain. I tried poking a good rib and then the hurting rib and none budged. Just pain. I just want to know how to tell if i had a cracked rib or just bruised a bruised rib?
