How To Detect Pregnancy?

my last period started on like, may 19th I think and I usually have a long cycle. Like if I start at the last week of may then I would start at the first week of july. my boyfriend and i had sex for the last time on june 2nd and he didn't even come close to finishing, it was only for like, 30 seconds. but we didn't use any protection (stupid stupid stupid) anyways I've been having mild cramps for like a week and a half and they are slowly getting more intense. no headaches, no fatigue or backaches, nothing. just menstrual like cramps and like two days ago my boobs started getting tender, but they aren't like, bigger or veiny like they say they would be in pregnancy and I took 2 of the early response pregnancy tests, the 5 days early ones. and BOTH were negative. I took one this morning right when I woke up when the hormone levels would be highest. I just don't know how likely it would be that I would be pregnant. He had not ejaculated earlier that day.

Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

First of all, the chance of pregnancy from sex without ejaculation for 30 seconds is extremely low- I would estimate close to impossible.

Modern pregnancy tests are extremely accurate, and they will become positive within 10 days to 2 weeks after conception. So if this amount of time has passed since your unprotected encounter, then you can be reassured that you are not pregnant.

Furthermore, breast tenderness is common with a delayed or irregular period due to the buildup of hormones.

So I would not be concerned at this point anymore about pregnancy, and I suggest for your peace of mind you avoid having unprotected sex, or to see a healthcare provider for other options for contraception.

I hope my answer was helpful to you and reassuring.

Best wishes,

Dr. Brown
