I am 17 and I live in Lucknow. I had unprotected sex and I have not had my periods even though 10 days from the particular date have passed. I tried the test but it showed negative. I will retry the test in about a week, till then, what could be the particular steps I could take? If I go to a gynaecologist I cannot afford to give my parents consent or give information of all sorts. Please help, I'm very worried.
Hi, Welcome to Healthcare magic. At first I want to inform you that the first and last week of period cycle are safe. if you have had sex during that period, you are unlikely to be pregnant. The pregnancy tests are quite sensitive. If that is also negative, it means that you are not pregnant. Even stress can delay the period. There is no need to wait for one week. I suggest you take a blood pregnancy test today. Blood test is more reliable than urine pregnancy test. If it is negative ( it will be in my opinion), consult doctor and take progesterone for withdrawal bleeding. I hope this is helpful.
