How To Diagnose Kidney Infection While Suffering From UTI?
Can a uti and kidney infection be treated the same way? I have a script for uti but it may be kidney infection. I have an appt. In 2 weeks. Frequent urination a lil burning fever back hurts. I stay thirsty but everything goes right thru me. My head hurts. Cant stay out of the bathroom and ialready had leakage problems last couple yrs.
hi, I want to know whether a urinary test was done or not ,and a simple urinary test might give you a clue regarding the site of infection. If your urine comes out positive for infection ,then a culture of urine has to be done to ascertain the type of organism and its sensititivity to antibiotics.Intravenous antibiotics might be required for the infection of kidney and it can treat lower urinary infection also. All the symptoms that you are experiencing is related to the infection of kidney and lower urinary tract ,try to get a ultrasound of the abdomen to confirm the diagnosis and then urinary tests, then treatment can be started ,If the UTI is mild then oral antibiotics will cure the disease but if its severe with kidney involvement then intravenous antibiotics might be required, hope this information might be helpful.
