How To Differentiate Between Heel Spurs And Achilles Tendonitis?

I have been told I have a heel spur on my right foot. I had an xray a week ago. I am looking on the internet to find out more about heel spurs. I think it is Achilles tendonitis. I don t have pain in the bottom of my heel or foot. It is painful to touch just above my heel bone and I have a huge hard protrusion from my heel. It is progressively getting worse and is sore to drive and cannot walk properly in flats. Little better in heels. Are you able to tell me difference between heel spurs and Achilles tendonitis?

thank you for the question.Calcaneal spur may lead to stretching of achilles tendon at its insertion site and cause inflammation of the tendon there called achilles tendonitis.Injection hydrocortisone acetate is infilterated for pain relief.large spurs may require surgical removal.Take advil 400 mg tds after meals for 5days and consult an ortho surgeon for its removal or infilteration with cortisone
