How To Differentiate Between Implantation And Menstrual Bleed?
hi i missed my period by 3 days then started to bleed, it was light for the first day but stopped that evening then started bleeding again the nex day abit heavier then it was light again the next day then just finshed, i am just wondering if this was implantation or just a weird period?
Minor fluctuations in the menstrual flow can be seen frequently, usually menstrual period of 2 to 7 days can be considered as normal only, and menstrual flow patterns can also change from cycle to cycle sometimes. According to your description there is more possibility for scanty menstrual flow than implantation bleeding. But sometimes implantation bleeding can also mimic the scanty menstrual flow.
If you are having any doubt regarding the pregnancy, for confirmation, please go for a blood test for pregnancy. If the serum beta HCG levels in blood test are less than 5 mIU/mL, that excludes the possibility of pregnancy. If serum beta hCG levels are more than 25 mIU/mL, that confirms the possibility of pregnancy, in that case it could be implantation bleeding, and you may need ultrasound for confirmation.
