How To Get Rid Of Excess Mucus From The Throat?

I am constantly clearing my throat of mucous. It never goes away except at night when it seems to disappear. Allergy testing is difficult because I always have the symptom whether I am being tested or not. I spent a year with a respiratory specialist but the treatment mad the problem worse. Is there a cure?

You are having either sinusitis or allergic rhinits. You need to consult an ENT specialist. An X-ray/CT scan of the paranasal sinuses will exclude sinusitis and an allergy testing should be done. You do not need to be symptom free for doing allergy test, but have to stop anti-allergics/ nasal sprays/ inhalers for at least 3-5 days for doing the test. Sinusitis can definitely be controlled by taking precautions, medications & if needed surgery. Allergic Rhinitis can also be controlled by taking precautions & proper medications.
