How To Get Rid Of Fear Of Public Speaking?

Am 25y old. At times of speaking during my day to day meetings at work am having this fear of speaking. My heart rate increases and shaking, my voice gets shaken and slows down. Bearly take say what i really want.. soon am up for a promotion where i have to talk more and am afraid i may not accept the promotion due to this issues.... please advise me....

Hi,

You may be suffering from social anxiety disorder. But we need not worry. This is an easily treatable condition with psychotherapy, and sometimes needing drugs also. Drugs like SSRI, benzodiazepines are commonly used. No need to reject promotion. Just see a psychiatrist for initial evaluation and management. You may be requested to seek help of a psychologist also.
