How To Get Rid Of Marijuana Addiction?

hi doctor, my son is finding it difficult to study or would rather put it this way.. he is unable to study for the last 1 year, shown severe temper tantrums, has also taken to marijuana saying it will help him concentrate in his studies. pshyciatrist has prescribed prodep 20 mg once every day. will it help him?

Marijuana is Cannabis and the drug is known to cause intense stimulation but it also depresses brain by its rebound effects. The drug cant help to improve the concentration, and instead the drug results in impaired concentration. His problems of poor concentration and difficulty in study are occurring due to depression or anxiety most probably. He has been prescribed to take Prodep 20 or Fluoxetine which is a good anti anxiety and anti depressant drug. The drug will help to improve concentration.

Cannabis causes psychological dependence and not physical dependence so it is easy to stop taking that drug. He may suffer slight restlessness, anxiety and craving on stopping the drug. These can be managed by giving low doses of any good anti anxiety drug. If symptoms persist then consult a psychiatrist.
