How To Get Rid Of Mucous Buildup Post Tonsillectomy?

Hello, i am day two almost three post tonsillectomy and besides the extreme pain when swallowing i am now hearing phlegm buildup in the back of my throat and chest. My chest feels heavy but i am able to breathe. How do i get rid of the mucus to make it more comfortable? My whole body feels like it has been kicked :(

Pain after tonsillectomy is managed by gargles like betadine,dilute hydrogen peroxide,painkillers.Difficulty in swallowing due to pain causes mucous to build up.Tonsillectomy causes slough in throat which is removed by eating and swallowing movements.Eating cold foods,drinks,ice creams are beneficial.
