How To Get Rid Of Plantar Wart If There Is No Relief From 25% Salicylic Acid Cream?

Hi, my name is Rachel. I have a plantar wart with a diameter of about 20mm. Yes, it s a big one! I ve had it for about 10 years, done nothing as its never really bothered me, but over time, has gotten larger. I ve now decided to get rid of it as it s not going away, and have started treating it with a 25% salicylic acid cream. Now, I have nothing but pain, have had to take time off work at times, and just need the best advice for getting rid of it. I have pending appointments with GP, podiatrist, skin cancer specialist, dermatologist and foot surgeon! Please give me your best advice. Thank you!

Hi Rachel,

Thanks for your query.

A long-standing wart, which is gradually increasing in size, now painful and not responding to Salicylic acid cream, should ideally be removed surgically, so as to get rid of it at the earliest and end your agony.

Consult your doctor and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me and will prescribe the advised drugs in appropriate doses.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE ALL doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.

Take care
