How To Get Rid Of Sore Throat?

3 weeks ago my daughter was dx with strep. She was treated. And is better. At the time of her DX. I was on augmentin for sinus / URI. 2 days of the Med left and I get a sore throat that s very red. No white areas noted. I complete abt with no decrease in symptoms. I m back at Dr and he prescribed doxycycline for 10 days. Much improvement was noted until day 7. With 3 days of abt to go once again sudden sore throat red irritated and on on side just before the tonsil there are tiny white spots. I return to my dr he now ordrs throat cultur and orders zpack. I m on day 4 and no changes are noted. It actually appears worse. Spots are spreading to top mouth and behind my left tonsil is white streak.back of my throat red and bumpy in appearance. I expect results on culture Tuesday. Just wondering if I need to be concerned about giving my family this infection or if I should be concerned about much more serious infection? I do not have Hx of recurrent tonsil or throat problem. I m 36 y.o. WF. And outside of post nasal drainage cannot recall having this type of sore throat. Also about middle ways of my tongue back toward throat my tongue feels scalded but looks normal.
