Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic

You seem to have focal variety of Alopecia Areata. In focal or patchy alopecia areata the disease presents clinically as patches of baldness, which may be just a single patch or few patches. It most commonly affects the scalp. The prognosis of focal patchy alopecia areata is good however there may be a few relapses, as in your case.

For a single patch intralesional steroid injections is first line treatment. However, for multiple patches oral steroids may be started as well (weekly doses of omnacortil on 2 consecutive days).

Besides, topical minoxidil 5% solution can also be applied to the bald patches.

If I was the treating doctor I would have ideally started you on intralesional steroids injections for the individual patches and topical minoxidil in addition to the oral weekly steroids.

Regards
