How To Get Rid Of The Ear Infection?

I have not been able to hear out of my right ear for a month and two wks.The ear drum ruptured from an ear infection after I tried vinager,then peroxide to clear infection.When this did not work and the ear was not hurting,I burned an ear wax candle in my ear with help from a friend.Then with a children's medicine dropper,I tried to flush the ear out with vinager but it shot out hard into the ear drum.The pain was sharp and hurt very bad.After this the infection came back.I went to Er.The doctor told me it was hard to see inside due to the scar tissue from previous infections.He wrote Amoxicillin 500mg,and NEO/POLY/HC OTIC ear drops.He said I had perferated my eardrum and the ear was infected.He advised me to see an ear specialist,but that Er visit cost me almost $500.I have no insurance at all.Today when I cleaned my ear out with a Q-tip traces of black appeared..I need advice. Thank you

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain first thing that I would like to tell you is that the procedures you followed to improve your hearing has been very wrong and has caused deleterious effects in your ear and finally you have perforated your eardrum..

As there is perforation in the eardrum along with severe ear infection and scabbing you need to consult an ENT expert and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like otoscopy, x ray and MRI scan can help in diagnosis..

It should be taken care of as if it is left untreated there can be complete loss of hearing in your ear..
In case if there is perforation you can be given a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller, decongestant nasal spray and antibiotic ear drops..

In case if the perforation is large or if it does not heal with medication surgical repair by Tympanoplasty can help..
