Hi,
Alchohol do not directly cause
throat infection, but yes, hard drinkng does hurt delicate mucosa from throat to intestines. This insult to mucosa is a favourable environment for pathogens to grow. Further acidity and reflux and / or vomits caused by alcohol consumption
aids to the insult.
General advice:
1. If its so intolerable first and foremost advice is to keep yourself away from alcohol if you can
2. If at all you can't have alcohol in a very dilute form and nor more than 30 to 60 oz or have bear 5% to join friends
3. Observe strict oral and food hygiene
4. Don't sleep immediately after alcohol consumption if you do and continue to consume.
5. Clear throat with properitory antiseptic gargles
6. Take soft bland diets only, don't take spicy foods irritating stomach
