Hi, I think I have Bartholin cyst. I am 24 years old. It stared paining a little in the morning. Then, I immersed myself in hot water, and the swelling reduced a bit. However, my left labia is still larger than my right one. Is there any way to get rid of the cyst without showing it to a GYN ?
Usually a Bartholins cyst if it is painful suggests an infection. So antibiotics are needed in many cases along with pain killers. Most of the time pus forms and drains from it and then it heals. However it tends to recur.
As of now, I suggest that it is best to see a doctor. However if this is not possible, try warm compresses, and use pain killers like acetaminophen twice daily. It may subside or form pus and drain. If it drains then clean with betadine solution and do not let water come in contact with it till it heals.
