How To Get Rid The Urinary Infection?

Hello,
I am writing to you because i am having an issue to which it is getting out of control for me. I live with my mother she is 53yrs old she is a diabetic type 2. Recently her blood sugar has been out of control to where they reach 270 to 280. I decided to take her to the ER and found out she had a urinary infection to which they gave her Nitrofur MAc 100Mg. The ER informed me that her sugar is in that state because of then infection. It has been over 4 days and i have made sure that she doesn't not eat anything that can raise her blood level. She is still waking up with her sugar in the 200. My question lies in how long till it get backs to normal or could there be something else?

Hello,
It is vicious circle. You must make sure to get the blood sugar levels controlled properly. She can be put on injection insulin under he care of her doctor.Get the urine culture done and give her antibiotics to treat her UTI.
Once the blood sugar levels are controlled and UTI is under check, you can bring her back to oral antidiabetics and continue with long term antibiotic therapy for her UTI for 6-8 months.
Thanks
