hello, I am 18 years old, 6'0 and i have a good medical history, with no allergies or things of that nature. I recently got a pierced earlobe. my earring went through my ear, so now the front part of the earring is closed up in my earlobe. Im scared and nervous, what should I do? if i take it out by myself, is that dangerous? would it cause a huge infection or cause me to catch something? please help!!!
I have gone through your query and can understand..
As per your complain it seems that there is tissue overgrowth over the ear piercing site that may be secondary to inflammation and it is leading to stucking up of the earring under the tissue.. You should consult a Physician and get evaluated and he can apply an anaesthetic gel/spray over the ear lobe and try to remove the earring gently.. Once it is removed he can also advise you antibiotics and painkillers as well as topical antibiotic application to relieve pain and prevent infection . In case if you try to remove it on your own there can be sever pain as well as inflammation and later lead to infection.. So better get it done under local anaesthesia by a general surgeon..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
