Hello there,
Losing a loved one especially someone so young can be very traumatizing. I understand what you are going through. When one suffers a loss like this the mind takes time to adjust and generally up to 6 months post a loss one suffers what is called a grief reaction. These are the stages of grieving that occur with the loss-
Denial- you deny that who ever you lost is gone
Anger- you feel angry at everyone and at fate at taking someone away
Bargaining- You try to bargain with everyone including doctors and god to save that person
Depression- when you realise that there is not a lot you can do. This is the darkest hour . when you feel at your lowest.
Acceptance- you accept what has happened and you move on.

Now I have told you about these to give you a better perspective of understanding what you are going through. At this time counselling with a psychologist will help as they have experience in such cases. Plus since you cannot break down in front of family, they provide you an outlet to express your feelings.
A mild drug may be prescribed for a short while to uplift your mood but its counselling that will heal you.
Hope this helps,
Please feel free to address any further queries to me. I will be gladly help you.
