How To Heal A Pus Filled Painful Bump On Arm With A Red Ring Around?
I have had this bump on my arm for years, like a growth of some sort. About 2 weeks ago it became pussy and painful with a red ring around it. I put iodine on it for a couple of days until the pain and puss decreased. I thought it was going back to normal until tonight. A big hard white thing came out and left a big gaping hole in my arm with my growth was. Should I be worried? What is this?
Hello and welcome to HCM, A bump on the arm could be due to many reasons- cyst, or growth. Accumulation of pus suggests infection of the lesion. A red ring around the lesion confirms the presence of infection. You need to consult your doctor for clinical examination of the lesion. Depending on its clinical presentation, an aspiration of the lesion can be done. Instead of aspiration, an excision of the lesion can also be done. Both these investigations will determine the origin and character of the lesion.
