How To Heal Mysteriously Bruising Right Above Pubic Area And Inner Thighs While On Antidepressants, effexor And Magnesium Vitamins?

Hello doctor, I am mysteriously bruising right above my pubic area and inner thighs. It has been two weeks and it has not gone away, instead I am seeing more in my inner thighs in the past week or so. I am on antidepressant, Effexor and just started magnesium vitamins about a week or two ago. Am taking biotin and vitamin E every other day, inconsistently. Have been drinking beer lately and I am bulimic. Have been fatigued and not functioning as I should be. Slow and sluggish and forgetful. I sleep a lot. Hard to get out of bed. Can you help...

Hello,
It sounds like you are not only having trouble with bruising, but you are having a lot of trouble with depression. I am concerned that you are drinking beer and not getting out of bed. The fact that you are sleeping and forgetful is likely related to a depression. Please talk to your physician or mental health professional about this. Regarding your bruising, I am wondering if you have a problem with the coagulation of your blood. Sometimes people who have eating disorders are deficient in certain vitamins and minerals. Perhaps you are deficient in vitamin K. Have you been taking any medications such as Orlistat? Have you been taking laxatives? Also, I think you should stop taking Vitamin E. This vitamin can make your blood thinner and make you more prone to bruising. Have you been drinking alcohol for quite a long time? In this case you may have a problem with your liver and your blood is not clotting effectively. If you came to my office I would recommend that you have some blood drawn, to test your vitamins, electrolytes, and your blood cells. I think this should be your next step.
