I fell last week and cut open my 2 knees, my right one (smaller cut) is healing fine, the left larger, approx 1 inch does not want to scab over, i am using peroxide and polysporin. it almost looks like its leaking a little.(it has scabbed over about 1/2 only0. Importqant to note that it is not hurting anymore. any suggestions would be appreciated. Nancy

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Wounds on knee take time to heal compared to other parts of the body as knee is a very mobile area and skin over it is stretching each time you move the leg. Wound healing requires the wound to remain non-motile for as long as possible and knee doesn't allow that. Wound heals faster when gap between it is minimal.
I would recommend keep applying antiseptics and wound clean as it will add to wound healing process. Clear fluid coming out is normal sign of healing.
