Hello,

Two issues needs to be addressed here. First is knee pain and nearby muscle pain. Considering her age it can be due to osteoarthritis. Her Knee x ray and blood tests needs to be taken to confirm the diagnosis. Vitamin D levels needs to be checked and corrected if deficient. Quadriceps strengthening exercises should be taught and she should do it daily. External heat application can give relief to some extent.

Second issue is low hemoglobin. At this age we should investigate and find the cause of low hemoglobin. Usually nutritional deficiency is the most common. But at 62 years other causes should also be considered. We should check whether she is losing blood through her stools etc. Sometimes the pain in Knees and the low hemoglobin can be related. So investigate first, rule out other causes and then start her on supplements.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
