Scout film is unremarkable. There is retrograde flow of barium from the rectum to the cecum with no reflux into the terminal ileum. In the mid sigmoid is a short segment of narrowing, measuring 7.0 cm in length, with an "apple core" appearance. The rest of the colon shows normal caliber with no other evident abnormality.
IMPRESSION: Apple core lesion, mid sigmoid, a newgrowth is considered.
Hello, This is not a colonoscopy report. It is a barium enema report. The report suggests that there is a growth in the sigmoid colon with narrowing of the lumen ( described as apple core appearence). These features could be because of cancer of the sigmoid colon. I would suggest a colonoscopy with biopsy to confirm the diagnosis Hope this helps Do get back in case you have further Queries Regards Dr Samir Patil
