my 4 month old baby is having loose motion for the last 5 days...today doc asked for a stool test and the results are



FEACES..PHYSICAL:



COLOUR YELLOW

CONSISTENCY: SOFT

MUCUS TRACES

PARASITES NONE SEEN

BLOOD NIL





FEACES MICROSCOPY

RED CELLS NIL/ HPF

W.B.C OCCASIONAL/ HPF

PARASITES NONE SEEN

OVA/CYSTS NONE SEEN





WHAT DOES IT MEANS??

SHE IS ON A TOP FEED....10.5 POUNDS...AT THE TIME OF BIRTH SHE WAS 5 POUNDS

hi, dr boskey is here, your baby stool report is normal, but here lactose test is not mention, in this age, two types of diarrhoea is common 1-lactose intolerant, 2-viral induced. so if diarrhea is persistent, do lactose test, if it is a positive, then give lactose free diet. & if it is negative, then don't worry, take care of baby.
