How To Interpret Urine Report After Viral Fever For Problems In Conceiving?

Hello doctor,
I am 31 years of age. Actually, now we are planning for kids. But, yesterday I got viral fever and in the urine report it showed that I have infection. The urine report indicated 15-20 hpf of pus cells, 8-10 epithelial cells, pale yellow urine, acidic, slightly turbid, specific gravity 1.020, trace albumin. I gave my sample then for culture and sensitivity, the result is yet to come. I would like to know if this is a severe problem.

Hello and welcome to HCM,

Urinary tract infection is an infection which is easily controlled by antibiotics, thus, there is nothing to worry about it.

The interpretation of the urine analysis report is as follows:
The physical characters - color, pH, specific gravity are all within normal limits.
The presence of 15-20 pus cells/ hpf suggests presence of infection.
Epithelial cells usually accompany infection.

The urine culture report will identify the causative organism and drug sensitivity will identify the most appropriate antibiotic.

Thanks and take care
