HI SIR, i HAVE DONE WIDAL TEST, THE REPORT SHOWS THAT SALMONELLA TYPHI 'O': POSITIVE UPTO 1:80 DILUTION, SALMONELLA TYPHI 'H' : POSITIVE UPTO 1:80 DILUTION,SALMONELLA PARATYPHI 'AH': NEGATIVE, SALMONELLA PARATYPHI 'BH' :NEGATIVE, WHAT DOES THESE MEAN? KIND ANSWER ME PLS
You have negative widal test.You are not suffering from typhoid fever. Single reading of Salmonella O or H antigen titer values equal or greater than 1: 160 is considered as positive. However four fold increase in titration is confirmatory. Symptoms may be due to other reasons. You need few more investigations like routine hemogram,Chest X-ray(PA view),Ultrasound of abdomen,RBS,LFT,RFT,Urine RE/ME.Further investigations can be done if needed. Proper treatment depend upon clinical findings and investigation reports. Hope i have answered your query.
