General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I understand your concern. I am not sure as to what your ethnicity is and whether the darkening of the skin is something you find unusual and inexplicable, however, since the prescription from the dermatologist did not give you the results you were hoping for, it is best to see an internal medicine doctor. Skin pigmentation can sometimes be a manifestation of another disease and it needs to be investigated. After a physical exam, you will have to undergo some blood tests in order to get a clearer picture of the root cause.

I hope this helps.
Wishing you all the best.
