How To Lower High CO2 Levels In Blood Quickly?

I have copd and am planning a trip tomorrow. I seem to be getting a cold which always exacerbates my copd. How can I lower high co2 levels in my blood quickly? I was hospitalized last year because of hipercapnia but just don t want to cancel my trip. I live at 7,000 feet sea level and will be going to sea level.

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Going down to sea level would improve the oxygenation.
2. The cold will definitely exacerbate, you can try bronchodilator along with antihistamines like cetrizine to reduce cold.
3. Steam inhalation will also help in reducing mucus in the airway. Not to worry. Oxygen will improve as you go to sea level.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
