How To Maintain Creatinine Level With Type 2 Diabetes?

I am 45 yr old Type 2 diabetic and 6'3" @ 227 lbs (just dropped from 268) w/ BUN of 25 mg/dL and creatinine of 1.43 mg/dL; very active, swim, lift, walk (hate running), bike occasionally; have been taking Herbalife F1 and protein, with their aloe and tea 2x/day with 1 meal and snacking in between to maintain my sugar levels; can this affect or elevate my creatinine levels? I am on metformin (2/day), atorvastatin (1/day), verapamil (1/day), fenofibrate (1/day)--my BP and cholesterol/triglycerides are now normal--can any of that affect creatinine? I am concerned because my doctor is going to place me on yet another pill for the creatinine (ACE inhibitor?); thinking about a second opinion real soon...........

Dear sir,i can understand your concern.i am very happy to know that your taking very good efforts to control your diabetes and avoid complications.most of medications which you are using are very good.Due to increased creatinine your doc may reduce the dose of metformin also.taking other pill like ACE inhibitor or ARB,is a very good option to save your kidney from from further damage.as your kidney is under stress its better for you to restrict protein also.
it will be sufficient if you take 0.8mg/kg/day protein.taking more protein is increasing work load on kidney.
if you need any further information kindly get back to me
