How To Manage Severe Mood Swings Following A Heart Attack?

my husband is suffering with heart failure. He is extremely quiet, and then will becoma angry with me over nothing , I am becoming more and more upset, apart from worrying about him. I feel as though I am waiting for something bad to happen, and am more and more anxious.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to depression.

You should know that depression and anxiety are commonly encountered in chronic cardiac patients.

I recommend consulting with a psychiatrist for a careful mental examination and discuss with him the better treatment option based on his symptoms.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best regards!

Dr. Iliri
