hello....I have been living with umbilical hernia for decades.....I am in my 50s now....because I have to get dot exam....I am scared that I will be told to get it fixed....I have a real phobia about operations ....feel dizzy just talking about it.....I guess the question would be.....do I leave it alone....and stop driving a truck

is there a plan of surgery in near future? this type of anxieties are very common in people. nothing abnormal with it. if you have problems in dealing with situation ,you may visit doctor and request him for medicine. propanolol is most commonly prescribed medicines for such anxities in short term. you may also take a short term course of benzodiazepine.
