Mean while For discomfort and soreness in the throat you can take some antibiotic preferably Azithromycin and for the cough you can take Bromhexine HCl, Guaiphenesin, Phenylephrine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate (if you are not allergic). These medications are used as an expectorant which promotes drainage of the secretion in the lower respiratory tract aiding in expectorating the secretions. Do warm saline gargling.
