How To Overcome The Cough And Irritation In My Throat?

Help... i am coughing... irritated throat... always want to spit the saliva... it started yesterday.... i take syndex-d (paracetamol phenylpropanoline hcl chlorphenamine maleate)... but the saliva and coughing doesn t stop.... m 48 yrs old... pls advise

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The cough can be because of the respiratory tract infection, it can be bacterial or viral infection. The soreness of the throat can be secondary to throat infection or tonsilitis.
Nothing to be panic, consult a general physician and get it evaluated. Mean while For discomfort and soreness in the throat you can take some antibiotic preferably Azithromycin and for the cough you can take Bromhexine HCl, Guaiphenesin, Phenylephrine, Chlorpheniramine Maleate (if you are not allergic). These medications are used as an expectorant which promotes drainage of the secretion in the lower respiratory tract aiding in expectorating the secretions. Do warm saline gargling.
